Skoda launches Superb Sportline at Rs 28.99 lakh

The Skoda Superb has always been the epitome of luxury mobility from Skoda and the car now gets a sporty treatment inside out. On the outside, the car gets glossy black details on the front grill, side view mirrors, side window frames, side door inserts and the spoiler. The Sportline trim gets 17-inch dual tone Drakon alloy wheels, rear diffuser with chrome highlights and an addition of Sportline badge at the front and rear of the car. Colour options are limited to a bright red, a sober white and a somewhere in the middle light grey.

On the inside, the car gets carbon decor with LED ambient lighting. The electrically-adjustable driver and front passenger seats come with three programmable memory functions offered as standard. The chrome front and rear door sill strips with ‘SUPERB’ inscription and the chrome pedals add to the unique look of the car. The three spoke steering wheel comes with a flat bottom to enhance the sporty appeal.

The Superb Sportline is powered by a 1.8TSI Petrol engine that develops 180bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque while the 2.0TDI Diesel engine develops 177bhp of maximum power and 350Nm of peak torque. The Petrol heart is good for 14.81kmpl while the diesel heart is good for 18.66kmpl as quoted by the manufacturer.

The car is equipped with a 8-inch floating touch screen display with proximity sensor that is a part of Amundsen infotainment system developed by Skoda. The system gets Smartlink connectivity with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto offered as standard. The Superb Sportline also gets a three zone climate control system so that the driver, co-driver and the passengers at the back seats can set the temperature as per their need.

The Superb Sportline gets a storage capacity of 625 litres which goes all the way up to 1760 litres with the rear seats folded down. The car comes with eight airbags offered as standard across all the variants and five three point seat belts. Along with the standard safety nets like ABS, EBD, ESC the Superb also gets Mechanical Brake Assist, Multi Collision Brake, Hill Brake Assist, Hill Hold Control, Anti Slip Regulation, Electronic Differential Lock and the anti-theft alarm with interior monitoring, passenger seat belt with warning light and parking sensors at front and rear.

The manufacturer has offered all its cars with a 4 year service care program that covers a 4 year warranty program and a 4 year (24 x 7) road side assistance. Additionally, customers have an option to purchase a 4 year service package at a meagre price. The 1.8 litre TSI Petrol Superb Sportline is priced at Rs 28.99 lakh while the 2.0 litre TDI Diesel is priced at Rs 31.49 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
