Prominent luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz recorded its highest ever sales in India in 2017 with a growth rate of 15.9 per cent. The Germany based manufacturer also recorded its highest sales year-on-year, half yearly and Q4 sales.
Maintaining their leadership role in the segment for the third consecutive year, Mercedes is not looking to slow down, with their philosophy for 2018 being coined as ‘The Best Keeps Leading’.
Sales for the brand was a record 15,330 units from January to December in 2017, while the number was at 13,321 units for 2016.
It is not only in India that Mercedes-Benz showed their strong sales, worldwide, the brand sold 2,289,344 units globally, a 9.9 per cent increase when compared with 2016.
The strong sales came from their new launches striking the right chord with the buyers, with exceptional demand coming in for the new long wheelbase E-Class.
The GLC, GLE and GLS range of SUVs continued to retain top slots in the SUV segment for the second consecutive year in a row.
It is not only the conventional models that saw growth, their firms’ performance arm AMG, saw double-digit growth as well.
Mercedes claims that the multitude of unique after-sales, brand and finance programmes supported the brand’s growth. The firm is set to launch the Maybach S 650 at the Auto Expo.
