Mahindra has quite silently included a petrol engined variant in its XUV 500 model range and the petrol variant will cost Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the discerning buyer.
Available with a sole variant, G AT, only customers from select cities can order the car for now. The engine is a 2.2 litre mHawk, producing 140 bhp. It is mated to a six-speed Aisin gearbox that comes with a manual mode, should you wish to take matters at hand.
Being the sole petrol variant, the SUV comes equipped well, with features like climate control, cruise control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto, static bending headlamps that turn on automatically, automatic wipers, puddle lamps and 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, coming in as standard.
Sources claim that the petrol engine shares its block with the diesel counterpart. The car comes with dual airbags at the front along with ABS, EBD and ESP with rollover mitigation.
Sources on the weight reduction (if any) and the ARAI fuel efficiency test figures are scarce for now.
