Homegrown auto giant Maruti Suzuki has launched the CelerioX (the X is to be spelled as cross) at a price of Rs 4.57 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Based on the Celerio hatchback, the crossover gets X-themed front graphics, body cladding on both sides and at the rear as well as a blacked-out B pillar.
The car gets a new orange shade exterior colour, with the interiors getting a few coloured bits to differentiate the new model from the hatchback.
As with many such cars, the powertrain remains the same, with a 998cc, three pot petrol engine that makes 68 bhp and 90 Nm of torque. There are two transmissions to chose from, a five-speed manual and an AMT should buyers wish to let the car do the gear changes.
While prices start at Rs 4.57 lakh for the entry level VXi manual, buyers will have to fork out Rs 5.43 lakh for the top-end ZXi (O) AMT variant. The CelerioX is about Rs 8,000 pricier than the standard Celerio on a variant-to-variant basis. Maruti has left out the base LXi variant for the CelerioX in an unusual move.
The near Rs one lakh difference between the top and the entry level variant incorporates a total of eight variants, including the afformentioned variants.
